The Quad ESL 57 has acquired somewhat of a cult status, and indeed many believe this electrostatic loudspeaker is still one of the most natural sounding ever produced. So do we. It is most famous for it's wonderful mid range and low coloration. With the proper recording, voices can sound just like the real thing.

What can you say about a loudspeaker that has changed the world of audio permanently? It's a piece of history, a classic. HiFi News announced the Quad ESL 'Greatest Hi Fi product of all time' at the turn of the century. We like to think this wonderful creation by Sir Peter James Walker honours the Quad phrase: "The closest approach to the original sound".

Unfortunately, only a small percentage still performs like a Quad ESL 57 should. Not surprising once you realize these old ESL 57's left the factory over 30 years ago!
