This is what a Quad treble panel looks like from the inside once you remove the paper strips, the paint and the conductive coating. Two stators made of uPVC.
This treble panel needs a new layer of conductive coating. The stator area's where we don't want it to go have been masked off.
A new layer of conductive coating for this tweeter! I used graphite 33 spray.
The masking tape removed. Now we can clearly see where the conductive coating went and where not. The smudgy grayish stuff in between is leftovers of the original paint.
A new layer of insulating paint. If you look carefully you can see where the coating was applied underneath, just as an original panel.
The new paper strips complete the treble panel stators. They are now ready to receive a new diaphragm.
In part two we will have a look at tensioning the diaphragm and finishing this treble panel. Stay tuned!
